Please let me take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Paul Malewski and I was elected in November of 2017 to the office of Mayor.
I live in Eaton Rapids with my wife Deborah (Jean Kline Senior Center Director) and Barney the wonder dog. We have a daughter, Andrea, that currently serves as the Communications Director for Attorney General Bill Schuette and lives in Lansing with her husband Adam.
I came to Eaton Rapids in the fall of 1981 as a member of the newly formed Eaton Rapids Police Department and never really left.
I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Siren/Eaton Shelter, the Eaton Rapids Medical Center Foundation and the Eaton Rapids Community Alliance.
I am the President of the Eaton Rapids Rotary Club (incidentally, we meet every Wednesday at 7:00 am in the large conference room at the Eaton Rapids Medical Center for our breakfast meeting). I am on the advisory panel for the Families Against Narcotics (Eaton County chapter), the Eaton Rapids Health Alliance and the Eaton Rapids Public Schools Aquatics Education program.
I teach both adaptive and recreational river kayaking to veterans and students in our community as well as providing adaptive services to people that have varying levels of physical limitations.
I own an Indian Motorcycle and am an avid fisherman and bicyclist.
My greatest joy is having the opportunity to serve those around me. I have dedicated over 35 yrs of my life to public service and hope to give Eaton Rapids 35 more.
Our desire is to offer large city amenities in a small town setting. We strive to provide a high level of service in a timely and professional fashion. We encourage you to help us make Eaton Rapids a great place to live, work, recreate and raise your family. We are actively seeking volunteers to serve on committees and boards so if you are interested please give me a call or send me an email.
If I can ever be of service please don’t hesitate to contact me either by telephone ( 663:8118 ext 8176 office, 663-6432-home, 490-5005 cell), email at pmalewski@city ofeatonrapids.com or stop by city hall and leave a message.
Thanks Eaton Rapids for giving me the opportunity to continue my public service career.
