Library Director Anna has a variety of library experiences that spans her entire life.
As a child, Anna would frequent her local library to check out materials and attend programs. Then as Anna got older, she spent many hours in college libraries researching and completing various assignments; so it only seemed natural that when she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree that she pursue a Master’s in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.
While Anna thought she wanted a career in an academic library as she had completed an internship at the MSU Main Library, she became enamored with the public library when she was hired by the Marshall District Library in 2010 as a part-time Library Assistant. Upon completion of her Master’s Degree in 2011, Anna was promoted to the full time public services librarian position. During her tenure with Marshall District Library, Anna took the children’s programming to new heights, worked on social media promotions, assisted patrons with a multitude of requests, connected with the seven local schools, and much much more. While Anna has enjoyed her time with the Marshall community, when this position became available, it was clear that it was time for a professional change, not to mention a shorter commute!
Anna is very enthusiastic about all things library and hopes to spread her love of libraries to the Eaton Rapids community!
