Discover an art sculpture that catches your eye, or, in the summer months, sit back and enjoy a free family concert at Island Park or catch a family friendly movie at the amphitheater.  You can visit the shops in historic downtown Eaton Rapids and explore the historic Miller Farms, which houses one of the largest Scouting memorabilia in the Nation.

There’s no better way to explore Eaton Rapids than by taking advantage of the multitude of events, festivals, and recreational activities offered throughout the year.

Here you will experience nature and history in one of Michigan’s most unique communities.  You would have to drive to the lakeshore to find more water frontage, or to northern Michigan for a more natural setting!

Eaton Rapids has a diverse downtown business district where shoppers can buy a variety of items ranging from gifts, antiques, flowers, nick knacks, spirit wear and crafts.  Visitors can also buy every day necessities and services at the local pharmacy, traditional hardware, and convenience store.  There is also a home decor shop with decorating services available.  Make sure to stop by Hastay’s Greenhouse for the best plants, flowers and arrangements.

If you are craving a cup of java, Eaton Rapids is home to Mark’s Cafe where baristas serve a variety of coffees and food.  Take-out or dine-in, the unique and charming atmosphere is where friends meet and visitors become regulars. For the ultimate in Dining experiences….Eaton Rapids has it all!  There are a wide variety of restaurants and cafes in and around Eaton Rapids serving everything from gourmet hot dogs and bar burgers to English cuisine.  Ethnic foods range from Chinese to Mexican.  Eaton Rapids is home to the finest bed and breakfast in the Midwest.  Visitors to The English Inn enjoy food and hospitality that is second to none!

If you want to spend the day with water sports…..this is your spot!  There are two rivers, three islands and several footbridges and fishing spots in town that locals know well.  Visitors are pleasantly surprised by the abundant water recreation opportunities.  You can navigate some of the best paddle rivers found in Michigan or fish to catch a wide variety of species.  It is no wonder that Eaton Rapids has one of the largest paddle clubs in Michigan!

Whether it’s sitting at a park reading your favorite book, catching a ball game, paddling down the Grand River or Springbrook, or taking a walk along one of our rivers…Eaton Rapids is waiting to be explored!

UPDATE: The current power outage is an issue through Consumers Energy and not the City of Eaton Rapids. For an accurate estimated time of restoration, please contact Consumers Energy.

UPDATE: Consumers is switching power and should have it restored soon.

UPDATE: Consumers has located the problem. It was more extensive than originally anticipated however, power is expected to be restored within another hour.

Power Outage 10/21/2019: The main power feed to our west substation is down causing a large city wide power outage. Consumers is anticipating that the issue will be resolved in one hour.
